I just finished Ms. Johnson's book, "Accidents of Nature", after reading about her recently in the Oprah Magazine. What a remarkable book it is....I have worked in the field of social services for many years and I have always been slightly uncomfortable about being around people who are disabled. This book made me dig very deeply into my soul and see life from a much different perspective. I have made a commitment to myself and to the memory of Ms. Johnson, and to honor her too short presence on earth, by acknowledging EVERYONE I meet in my daily life, and by remembering her and her remarkable ability to help me see this terribly flawed world around me in a very different way! My condolences to her family, and to the legion of her friends who had the incredible opportunity to get to know her personally.
